First Day of School Checklist

First day of school is on Thursday, September 6th!

I know the first week of school is a whirl-wind of paperwork, alarm clocks, lost shoes and frazzled nerves so I wanted to help you out.  Here are some things you should do this week to set your family up for a successful year at Brookside Place School:

  1. Make sure you have all of your back to school supplies.  You can find the list by grade, by visiting http://bpspta.digitalpto.com/2018/08/03/school-supplies/
  2. Subscribe to our schools calendar by following the directions found at http://bpspta.digitalpto.com/2018/08/22/sync-to-bps-pta-calendar/.  This calendar is managed by the PTA and includes days off, single session days and various school and PTA events.  Give yourself a break and have this added to your calendar so you don’t have to drive yourself crazy trying to remember when spring break is this year.
  3. Send those adorable first day of school pictures to our yearbook committee at [email protected].  While you are doing that, you can also get a head start and pre-order your yearbook.  Information can be found at http://bpspta.digitalpto.com/ptas-president-message/yearbook-2/.
  4. Like us on Facebook at Brookside Place School PTA Facebook Page  We are constantly sharing updates, reminders and news on our page.  This is a closed group so you will have to request to join.  Our admin is always available to give access to the families of Brookside Place School.
  5. Say hello to your friends and make some new ones by stopping by the PTA’s Welcome Coffee on Thursday, September 6th starting at 8:30am.  Our PTA will be at various doors around the school with some hot coffee.  Come grab a cup and say hello!
  6. Join the PTA!  You can find info on how to join by visiting http://bpspta.digitalpto.com/pta-info/join/
  7. Lastly, volunteer!  There are so many opportunities to help the school and be a part of your child’s school year.  You can find opportunities to volunteer for things like being a class parent, helping with holiday boutique, spending some time helping the kids shop at the book fair, helping in the planning of one of our many projects and events and so many other things.  Take a few minutes to look through our volunteer page at http://bpspta.digitalpto.com/pta-info/volunteer-2/  If you have any questions about something you are interested in, you can e-mail Nicole Zitomer by clicking here.
