Souper Bowl

“Souper Bowl 2017”

Which team will win the Super Bowl? Which team will collect the most canned food in our “Souper” Bowl?
The New England Patriots or The Atlanta Falcons. Bring a can of soup in to school and drop it in the team box of your choice.  Whichever team’s box has the most cans of soup by February 2nd wins our “Souper” Bowl.
Our “Souper” Bowl will run for one week leading up to the big game: January 3- through February 2.
The winner of the “Souper”Bowl will be announced on February 6th, at the end of the school day.
Students are encouraged to donate—and therefore vote—more than once!
All soup that we collect will be donated to Cranford Family Care.
Any questions, please contact Mrs. Collins at [email protected]

Pennies for Pasta

The results are in January 31, 2017:
Pasta for Pennies Program!
The results are in!! Our school raised a total of $5,619.26 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!!!! Thank you to everyone who participated in this amazing program. Our total is above and beyond what we have raised in the past. Thank you to the amazing families at BPS. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
There are some students that deserve special recognition. Three girls did an amazing job raising money for pasta for pennies!! On Saturday, January 28th, Kaylee Fitzpatrick, Ciara Lynsky, and Shea Matheson held their very own bake sale.  The girls’ smiles and delicious goods helped them raise $150 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!  Two brothers also took it upon themselves to collect for the Society. Kiran and Ishaan Davis used their beaming personalities at Walgreens and raised $144.80. We are extremely proud of these students for taking it to the next level.

January Healthy Hints

Happy 2017! Since my motto is “Healthy kids are good learners,” I hope this is a year filled with good health for the whole Brookside Place School community.

In this issue you’ll find useful information about carbon monoxide poisoning including signs and precautionary measures.  A second safety reminder is to familiarize your child with an “old fashioned phone.”  Take a look at the attached document for additional information.
